He got a doughnut at
school that Lilly really wanted. So he gave her half.
On Sunday when he was
bored he decided to write notes to his friends at school. Kenny's
said, “Kenny and Lucas are best friends” with a Lego character on
it.
Lucas jumped off the
bus this week beyond excited to tell/show me he had lost his tooth at
school. Later that night he really lost the same tooth somewhere in
our neighborhood. A hug from his baby sister and a forgiving tooth
fairy barely revived his sullen spirits.
He ran a handful of
laps around our street. Not by choice. His dad thinks it is a great
way for him to think about being nicer to his sister and get a little
conditioning at the same time.
He got this love note
from one the Lilly's friends. She is not the first, second, third, or
forth of Lilly's friends to have a crush on my son.
He carried at least 157
diapers out to the garbage.
Walking home from
school one day he told me he had to change seats in class. He then
asked me to guess if it was because he was good or because he was being bad. From the smirk on his face and because I know how much his
teacher loves my little guy, I knew it was a trick question. He got
moved for being so good, his teacher hoping he could help another
struggling with disciple.
He made the day of a new kid at school by saying "hi" to him at recess. I only know about it because the mom e-mailed me to tell me how important it had been to her son.
He danced his little
heart out to the Gilbert temple celebration.
He had at least five
parents come tell Reed today how awesome and nice of a basketball
player he is.
He helped a teammate
who had never scored all season make three baskets at their last
game.
He had a handful of ten-ish-year-old boys talking about how good he was at basketball and then pretending to be contaminators of his game for a while. They never knew that his mom was sitting right within earshot, but the kind things they said about my son in such a silly sort of way melted my heart to pieces.
He planted four boxwood
bushes in pots for his mom. Most of the dirt involved landed on the
floor of our courtyard.
He tired
unsuccessfully to have a sleepover party with his sister Lilly.
They were really good at the party part, super lousy at that sleeping
part.
He had a sleepover
party with him mom on a different night. They were really good at the
sleeping part!
