Two Two-year-olds

The other major even of our week is that we now have two two-year-olds in our house. I'm not sure if I am ready for that. Lilly hasn't really ever been a tantrum girl, but I guess that might change. She threw such a tantrum when we were out with some friends this week that poor Lucas and I just had to pack up our things and take her home. I'm actually hoping that she just wanted to get in one good tantrum as a one year old since it happened when she was 1 year and 364 days old.

Anyways, their birthday was really fun, especially because they are starting to understand what birthdays are all about. Here are some of the highlights:

1. I let them pick out whatever they wanted for breakfast. I thought we would have some super sugary cereal, but no. They both REALLY wanted raisin bran. Luke honestly sat eating it for over an hour savoring every bite.

2. We met up with some friends in the morning to celebrate with them at the park. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time.

3. In the afternoon Luke, Lilly, and I sat and watched a movie while eating candy. I am kindof a mean mom and don't let them do either of those a ton, so the combination made for two very happy kids.

4. Luke and Lilly love the song happy birthday, and I got to sing it to them hundreds of times, literally. We made a fun game out of the song with opposites where they would tell me a way to sing it, like sad then happy or loud then soft. I loved watching them have so much fun just sitting around listening to me sing (and we all know it definitely wasn't because of my gorgeous singing voice).

5. A birthday isn't complete without balloons, so we made a quick trip to the store for some, while we waited for dad to come home from work.

6. We did dinner at Chucky Cheese. I have pictures from our adventures there that I will post below.

7. We went home for birthday cake and a couple rounds of blowing out the candles. Yeah, and Luke half blows/half spits his candles out. Not very sanitary, but it was pretty funny to watch.

8. Opened presents. Thanks Camie for all the cute gifts. They LOVED the cutable fruits and veggies. Those are darling.

Happy Birthday Luke and Lily! That is so fun when they start realizing what is going on and what the special days mean. Christmas for Nanna was great this year for that same reason. Congrats on you house. We should be closing on ours next week. Yeah!!

All I can say Jen is good luck! It might not be as bad as you anticipate though. Although my kids had a ton of energy at two, they didn't really start the huge tantrums until three. See- you have so much to look forward to. :) ha ha just kidding. I love two year olds- they are just barely not babies anymore and are soo adorable. happy birthday to them both.
